Satan Works Through Clever Deceit

"The woman said to him, 'I know that Messiah is coming, who is called Christ. When he comes, he will tell us all things.' Jesus said to her, 'I who speak to you AM HE.” John 4:25-26 There is a popular tv evangelist who wrote a book claiming that Jesus Christ never intended to be the Messiah. Such blasphemy! Jesus Christ came TO BE the Messiah, he came to become the atonement for our sins, and when he returns he will return AS THE MESSIAH. From before the foundation of the world, Jesus Christ was and is and will be the Messiah, the one anointed to carry out the work of atonement for us, and later to set up his Kingdom upon the earth. The passage quoted above clearly shows Jesus telling the Samaritan woman that he IS the Messiah. The agenda of Satan is to subtly change or misquote the Word of God, thus deceiving many. This was the tactic he used from the beginning, as he denied the Word of God to Eve and brought such terrible sin and destruction upon the earth. Jesus, being God, came to this earth and was manifest as a human being so that he could take the judgment for us, in our place, the judgment due on our sins. To be acceptable, this could not have been accomplished by any sinful man, it had to be done by God himself and clearly, Jesus Christ IS God manifest in the flesh: "Great is the mystery of godliness: GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH …received up into glory." 1st Timothy 3:16 "For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." Colossians 2:9 "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd THE CHURCH OF GOD WHICH HE PURCHASED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD." Acts 20:28 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD... And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” John 1:1, 14 The Word of God tells us that in "the last days" there will be a great deception that will come upon the people BECAUSE they did not love truth: "The coming of the lawless one (the Antichrist) is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous DECEPTION among those who perish, BECAUSE ...they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them STRONG DELUSION, that they should BELIEVE THE LIE, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." 2nd Thessalonians 2:9-12 Strong delusion... When the disciples of Jesus asked him what would be the signs of his return, the very first thing he said was "Take heed that no one DECEIVES you." (Matthew 24:4) Friends, we are living in the age of deception and it is imperative that we know the Word of God because that is the only way to be protected from that great delusion that is coming even now upon the people of the earth. If you don't know the Word of God, you will fall for the deception that Satan, "the liar" (John 8:44), will deceive the world with. The great deceiver always attacks the Word of God and especially as it refers to the Lord Jesus Christ. Protect yourself from the great delusion by getting into the Word of God every single day of your life. Commit it to your mind, for it will be the mind that the enemy will whisper to, to bring deception to those on the earth who don't know the Word of God. For more on this: Who Is Jesus Christ?
