"Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure..." Isaiah 46:8-9 There is no other like the Lord God of Heaven, the creator and sustainer of all that is. There is none like him, and there is no one who can challenge him. When you think of the audacity of Satan ...how he can think to challenge God ...what foolishness! God could in one breath put him out of existence. But God won't do that, because he uses all challenges to work things according to his own will. When Satan tried to destroy Moses by moving upon the heart of Pharaoh to kill all the Hebrew baby boys in that day and of that age, God made sure that Moses was safely protected. When Satan tried to kill Jesus as soon as he was born into the world by putting it into the heart of Herod the king to kill all the Hebrew baby boys of that day and age, Jesus was safely protected. No one can challenge the Most High God. No one. God has a plan for the life of each one he brings into the world, and no one can prevent it except the person himself who can refuse to surrender to it. God has granted to each one freedom of choice. He doesn't want robots, he wants our hearts. But every surrendered believer is absolutely safe within the plan of God for his/her life. That plan will include suffering, because suffering is the crucible in which we are brought to maturity; but Satan can bring no suffering that has not been included in God's master plan for each of his children, and when attempts are made against that plan, we are absolutely protected. Most believers can tell of times when they could have died or could have been seriously hurt, but "something" happened to prevent it. Even in death the believer is in God's hands alone! When Satan thinks he has succeeded in bringing a believer to death, why does he not realize that as that person closes his eyes in death he opens them in heaven, the place that Satan has forfeited? Almighty God is absolute Sovereign; none can challenge him and succeed. Almighty God is exceptional as the One who declares all events even from the beginning, even from before the foundation of the world. Your fate was chosen before you ever existed, your sins atoned for, before you ever were born. "But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 How important it is, then, to seek to know the will of God and to surrender one's life to him. The only one who can prevent approval at the Bema Seat of rewards in heaven, is you. To the extent to which you surrendered to Almighty God, and to the extent to which you sought to serve him in every way that you can, that will be the extent to which you will receive rewards when this short life is over. What then, could be more important than offering your all to him, accepting all circumstances from his hand, and bowing before his Majesty every morning in thanksgiving for another day?
